Carolyn Wagner, owner of Rum Runner Dive Shop, went to great depths to help our ocean creatures! She got her “bake” on first by adopting a sea creature, the Green Sea Turtle, from Oceana and received a turtle cookie cutter. She baked turtle-shaped sugar cookies at her Great Bake event during Rum Runner’s customer appreciation day. “Save The Turtle” t-shirts and Great Bake t-shirts were available to purchase. Thank you, Carolyn!

The BeMent’s drove from Indiana to North Carolina for a Great Bake event with Casey at a local outdoor market. Cookie sale donations were sent to IMMS. We headed to the Sea Turtle Hospital in Topsail Island the next day for the turtle tour.

Dogs love cookies, too! Casey and her mom, Kay came up with this doglicious recipe, wholeheartedly endorsed by their own pups, that is now for sale at their local vet’s office. Why not bake up some for the beloved family four-leggers to sell at your BAKE? Check it out! Let us know what you think!

Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits

1/2 cup water
1/2 cup veg. oil
2 eggs
3 Tbl. natural peanut butter
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups white-wheat flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup oats (not instant)

Blend wet ingredients together. Whisk dry ingredients & mix into wet mixture to form
a ball of dough. Roll out and use your ocean-themed cookie cutters. Place on a lightly
greased cookie/baking pan. Bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees F. Turn off oven and allow
biscuits to cook in the oven until crisp and hard. Store in airtight container.

Hi! Glad you joined us.

We are guessing you’re here because you either want to BAKE or BUY some amazingly delicious, ocean-inspired sugar cookies and/or other treats to help marine life in the Gulf.

That’s why we’re here, too, and we need your help.

We’re getting ready to show Martha Stewart, Paula Dean and Betty Crocker how it’s done and we want you and your community on our team!

The BAKE blasts out of the oven - piping hot - on July 9th.

Stay tuned for more.
